A MAN who allegedly left his child porn-filled mobile phone in a Perth District Court last month has been charged with child exploitation offences.

The 47-year-old Maylands man will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.

Police said a staff member of the District Court contacted police after seeing disturbing images on the mobile phone, which he found in the court building.

The tip sparked a Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team investigation that led to a raid of the man’s Maylands home where detectives seized documents and electronic storage devices.

Police allege analysis of the devices and inspection of the documents identified about 50 images of boys in sexually suggestive manners.

The man has been charged with possession of child exploitation material which can attract a penalty of up to seven years imprisonment.
